Gateway of India
A basalt arch on the Apollo Bunder waterfront, built to mark the 1911 visit of King George V and Queen Mary and completed in 1924. Ferries to the Elephanta Caves leave from the jetties beside it.
Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus
The former Victoria Terminus, designed by F. W. Stevens and completed in 1888, blends Victorian Gothic Revival with Indian elements. It is still a busy working station, so be mindful of passengers.
The museum
The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Vastu Sangrahalaya, formerly the Prince of Wales Museum, is an Indo-Saracenic building that opened in 1922.
Haji Ali Dargah
A mosque and tomb on an islet off the Worli coast, reached by a causeway that can be covered by the sea at high tide. It is a working religious site: dress modestly and ask before photographing people.
